Current Mood: artistic
Haven't updated in awhile, so I guess it is high time I did.

I was accepted to the Savannah College of Art and Design - Alanta Branch and entering the Interactive and Game Design program. The next quarter starts in September. Right now I'm trying to come up with various solutions to help finance my tuition there such as scholarships, grants and student loans. Hopefully I'll be able to land a few scholarships. I've been using services such as fastweb to help apply for a few of them, but many of them do not seem to apply to me which is unfortunate. I wish I could find more art based scholarships that I could send a portfolio to or even an essay. I guess I'll continue to just plug away at what I can find out there.

In a week or so, Yoriko and I will be driving to Chicago to visit her old college-town community, and attend the wedding of one her friends on the 3rd.

I recently purchased a DS Lite after selling my old DS and few games on Amazon. Yoriko showed me how Amazon selling works and I was able to sell them in less than 24 hours! Anyhow, I'm playing New Super Mario Bros and completely addicted to Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.

Let's see, as far as online stuff goes, I'm still updating the Cave Story site with new content as it is sent in, though lately I've been focusing on side projects dealing with Action-Adventure-RPGs. I recenly found out about a game series called "Xak", which well basically is a series that no one has ever heard of. The series is very unique and creative and spans across many different titles that has a gameplay style that fans of the Zelda and Ys series will be very familiar with. Since this game series would probably be the "next-closest" series (in terms of the amount of games and remakes) to both Ys and Zelda I decided that I wanted to make the series a bit more well known. In a sense, I want to put the Xak series on the map, so I began writing a wikipedia article about it, but after I didn't get very far I recieved contact from the first game's original translator and with his help we've been able to come up with a great deal of Xak content. He's a really nice guy who lives in the Netherlands and speaks fluent English and studies Japanese. I decided that my next Gameflaws tribute site would be about the Xak series, but after coming to realize that having a small site dedicated to this unknown game series would probably not get too many hits, I decided to advertise it with two series that are very close to it in style, the Ys series and Zelda series. This idea turned out well since I've always wanted to design a site having to do with Ys and Zelda anyway. So, I decided to work on a site called XyZ or "Xak, Ys, Zelda". I figure this would be the best chance to combine all three games so that there is less effort in designing individual sites for them at a later time. The process has been rather slow going though since I don't have that much time to work on it. I usually work at night when I can't sleep since I get most of my inspiration at night, go figure. Only the Xak content is there so far and the Xak wikipedia will come one of these days. There really is no rush I guess considering not many people have heard of the series. lol

Anyhow, the site Url is this: http://www.gameflaws.com/xyz

I also recently helped out with a "secret art project" for the BS Zelda: Anicent Stone Tablets fan community that is attempting to fix one of the Zelda games for the Super Famicom Bandai Satellaview system that ran for a short time exclusively in Japan. After I first saw the project I became very intrigued by it since they have been working on the restoration of these BS only Zelda games for several years now. It has been awhile since I've seen this much dedication in an online fan romhacking project.

BS Zelda Ancient Stone Tablets Wikipedia >http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BS_Zelda:_Kodai_no_Sekiban

I'm also playing Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater: Substance (whew, say that three times fast!) occasionally since it has the two previously unreleased MSX Metal Gear games that kick ass. : )

I'm also going to start studying Japanese again a bit more regulary since well... to be completely honest I'm dealing with a fair bit of envy/jealousy issues regarding other Caucasians I've recently met that can speak it fluently. You see first there was Yoriko's co-worker's husband that I met while back who was Caucasian and could speak Japanese fluently. Now don't get me wrong, this guy is really cool and I know him well enough now to call him a friend of mine, but at parties where everyone could speak Japanese, I'd pretty much be the only one that cannot understand anything going on. But since then we've met two other Asian/Caucasian couples where the Caucasian guys can speak Japanese fluently and when we all go out to dinner, I'm pretty much clueless as to what is being said. So I'd be lying if I said it didn't bother me, so perhaps this is a message that is supposed to be a perverbial kick to the groan to get me to start studying again. I just hope I can keep up with it this time around because once I don't use it, I lose it unfortunately.

Our cats are doing well and they have been the most loyal cats I've ever had before. They follow us around to rooms, let us pick them up and cradle them like babies, they'll bring their toys and meow at us when they want to play and they lie in extremely cute positions and play jokes on us like holding a door so that we can't open it. They are quite smart too.

And I think that is really about it for now. Hope all of you are doing well.

Kingdom Hearts II is finally going to be shipped out to our gaming stores today! I cannot wait to play this game, but I will until Yoriko comes home from work. ^_^ It is going to be awesome.

Were also interested in getting the bundle packaged version of the U.S. Beatmania if it comes out today. It comes with the game and Beatmania controller all for around $64. Considering that the same kind of controller alone sells for at least around $100 by itself in Japan, I think we are getting a pretty good deal. We have Beatmania IIDX 6,7 and 8, but playing it on a mock-up Pop'n Music controller that we had a friend wire us together (My friend and I refer to it as the Pop'n Box) using an old PSX controller that we soldered various points on the board with cat5 cable, just doesn't seem to do the trick. Plus it'll be nice having a turntable.

I've been playing a bit of Suikoden V lately. I unfortunately have not made it very far, but so far I really like this game. And I hate to say that I feel the reason behind liking it so much stems from the style reverting to that of something similar to the first two Suikoden games in terms of look, feel, music, character design and battle structure. It all feels so... Suikoden and I guess I like that. I guess I can officially be called a "Suikoden I & II fanboy" as afterall, Suikoden II is still my all time favorite game with Panzer Dragoon Saga being a close second. I'll probably put this one down for awhile in lieu of Kingdom Hearts II, but I will most assuredly come back to this one.

Recently some news has come up in the various Cave Story/ Doukutsu Monogatari communities in that a third part publisher known as Variant Interactive or Variant Games rather has purchased the rights to Cave Story and plan on developing it for the Sony PSP and possibly the NDS if Nintendo will approve it. This has brought up a bit of controversy amongst the fans who on the whole seem a bit worried as to how this port will do when it is in fact transitioned to the mainstream handheld markets. The CEO of Variant Games is a pretty nice guy who tells us that his company philosophy is to work hand in hand with the community of a game that has a following and to not butcher the project. Not many details have been revealed thus far, but the developer has assured us that not only will fans be getting the new and improved version of Cave Story with updated graphics and sound, but we will also be getting the original untouched version included as well. Cave Story fans will have to wait and see for now as to what will happen regarding this project.

Edit: Wahoo, my Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories FAQ was accepted to GameFaqs today! And.. and I even got a thank you email from someone who found the guide to be helpful! I tell you, a project is completely worth if you can get at least one thank you out of it.

Mar. 22nd, 2006 @ 04:49 pm Alive!
Well, sort of anyhow. I do think I should give this old journal a bit of an update seeing as I have not touched it in quite some time.

Let's see. Well for awhile I was working at an all natural-organic grocery store that one of my best friends from highschool's mother opened up. I worked there together with my friends Alan and Chris. Since then I've taken about a month or so off so that I can finish an artwork portfolio so that I can attend the Savannah School of Art and Design's Atlanta branch. They have a Interactive and Videogame Design course which fancies me there and I'm in the process of getting every thing I need done to finish up my application and hopefully start in June. Then I'll probably go back to work at this past job for a bit until my college classes start.

Yoriko and myself stopped playing World of Warcraft for a bit due to time constraints and an overall feeling of watching our time fly away from us. It is unknown whether or not Yoriko will play it again and if and when I do start playing again I will most likely play on a very casual basis and raid very occasionally in order to keep up with some of my past highschool friends, as that was pretty much the only medium I had in talking with them. Our guild was doing pretty well right around the time I left it, about half-way through the instance known as Blackwing Lair. I made this as a parting gift when I left the game for those fans who do play World of Warcraft: http://gameflaws.com/avatars/ragnaroscereal.jpg

Not sure if we mentioned this already, but Yoriko and I now have two very special cats, each about a year old. One named, Nyausicaa (Think the character Nausicaa mixed with the Japanese meow sound of "Nya") and one named Sakura, which is Japanese for Cherry Blossom. We named our first cat Nyausicaa because she was a rescue and we found her outside of our apartment at 2:00 in the morning meowing. This was during a hurricane season and the winds and rain were terrible. We felt that since Nausicaa was a strong female character who road the winds, it was a suitable name for such a brave kitten. That and of course she has so much energy and spunk. lol Our other cat, Sakura was named for her pink features, ear tips, nose, mouth and paws kinda like a cherry blossom. They are both adorable and very human affectionate and crave contact frequently. They didn't get along at first of course and they still play very rough, but they secretly like each other. lol

In other gaming news, I recently finished a GameBoy Advance game called Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. This game was fantastic and it actually had a decent amount of new content to offer to the world of Kingdom Hearts. I loved the first Kingdom Hearts and I am very anxiously awaiting Kingdom Hearts II at the end of this month. Very anxiously. lol Because I enjoyed Chain of Memories so much, I did everyone a favor in that for those who may never play this game but want to know about what happened in it, I wrote a Story guide and Plot Analysis FAQ.

You can find the FAQ here: Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories Story Guide FAQ

or hopefully soon, it will be available from GameFaqs as I've just recently submitted it.

Besides that of Kingdom Hearts II coming out, I'm playing Metroid Prime: Hunters for the DS as well, however I'm having a real difficulty being able to control the game as I would like. I'm hoping to find a way to play the game with ease soon making it easier to hold the DS and aim without using the pen stylus.

Suikoden V was released today and word has it that it is one of the better ones in terms of characters and storyline. I may just have to give that a spin sometime. Still need to finish Suikoden III, IV, Final Fantasy X and Shadow Hearts II though. I don't want to forget about them forever... lol

I have been sucked into my first MMORG ever, World of Warcraft. It is a very fun game so far and almost a little too addicting. Yoriko is also addicted to it and we only have one computer. ^_^;

I play a Paladin on Stormrage (Skyewelse) and a Warrior on Hellscream (Trebeil) of which I just started yesterday.

Not sure how many of you out there play, but it would be fun to see more people I know online and in game.

I have more or less finished the Cave Story (Doukutsu Monogatari) tribute fansite that I have been working on.

http://www.gameflaws.com/cavestory/

Cave Story, or Doukutsu Monogatari, is a Japanese freeware PC side-scrolling platformer game developed by StudioPixel. It has been translated into English by Aeon Genesis Translations and will have an official translation script published sometime in the near future.

Cave Story is really one of those games that can be considered a masterpiece of game design. There are so many wonderful and classic gaming elements, that I cannot even begin to describe just one quality well enough to say “It is for this one reason alone that Cave Story is a great game.” There is just so much effort, originality and ingenuity behind this game and it really shows more and more you play through it.

The developer, Pixel spent five years making this game as fun and as great as it is by adding solid controls, smooth gameplay, a great cast of characters and dialogue, an interesting plot, good music and beautiful old-school 2-D artwork. And on top of all this added multiple endings, several boss battles, tons of items to collect, all kinds of added secret bonuses and special challenges, various and very different ways to play through the game depending on your actions, competition ranking features and an extremely high replay value. For a freeware game it is fairly lengthy too and is by far the best freeware game I have ever had the honor of playing through and certainly one of the best games I’ve played.

The gameplay plays like a combination of various NES/Famicom games. Some that come to mind are Metroid, Castlevania, Megaman, Blaster Master and Monster Mash. Pixel’s art style and character design and boss battles are very reminiscent of Treasure games, like Gunstar Heroes, which happens to be one of my personal favorite games of all time. So if you are a fan of any of these titles, then you are in for a real treat. It was a wonderful and addicting experience playing through it and I hope anyone reading this who has not already played this game will give it a shot. You won’t be disappointed. It reminded me of why I enjoy playing videogames.

------

The following is a review from Ajutla, of Gamer's Quarter that I found on Live Journal. I thought he explained everything rather well, perhaps even better than I can, of why you should be playing this game right now.

------

So. Doukutsu Monogatari is this tremendously good, freeware computer game. I can't praise it enough. You've heard of it by now, I'm sure, but if you haven't, go here. Follow the link to download the game now, use WinRAR to extract the lzh file, follow the other link to download the translation patch, install that once you have it, and then proceed to lose yourself for several hours. Go do this right now. If you don't think you need it, you are not thinking correctly. You need it. Satisfy that need now, then come back here.

There's no one thing in particular to which I can point in Doukutsu and say, "Yes, that's what makes this game so great." In reality, there are several aspects at work here. I can say this: the thing plays like a dream, and I mean that in a completely literal way: the control is solid but also floaty; smooth and clean. The physics are unreal, but they have a kind of beautiful oddness to them. You are not running and jumping in Doukutsu. You are gliding. There is sheer style oozing from this; as well as from the design of the levels, which is always spot-on; and from the music, which flows like liquid genius; and from the story, which is bizarre yet understated. Comparisons can be drawn between Doukutsu and Castlevania, or Metroid, or Yoshi's Island,, or, well, a lot. Yet Doukutsu is off in a genre by itself. It is something the likes of which I have never seen before; have never experienced before. More than this, it is masterfully designed.

This game--it has a timeless, perfect quality to it. Yes, it is a random piece of freeware designed and written by a random Japanese guy whose real name I do not know, but you would not be able to tell that just by looking at it. Game development houses toss around phrases like "this works within the constraints of X hardware" or "we did what we could with that game based on what we had to work with." They say things like that to excuse their incomplete games--their unfinished, truncated ideas. "Well," they say, "we couldn't have implemented this even though we really wanted to. Sorry! It'll be in the sequel, next generation!" It's okay, when they say this. They're right. You can tell they're right, just from playing the game. You know that world map in Final Fantasy VI wouldn't have looked like it had been put in an electric chair if the SNES hardware could have given us something better; you know that Ocarina of Time would have had a Light Temple if EAD had been given more time; that Lament of Innocence would have been quite a bit better if Koji Igarashi had spent a little longer ironing things out. That's fine. People and dev teams are human. Their plans can be cut short.

Doukutsu Monogatari, though, was not cut short, I think--no, I know--that this is true. I hear the guy behind it spent five years putting it together, tweaking it, getting it right. It shows. This Doukutsu Monogatari thing is, simply put, a perfect piece of software. Everything's been thought out. The best games, I think, feel like this--they don't feel that they were made "within the constraints" of anything. They feel good. They feel right. They weren't rushed. They weren't forced to fit the arbitrary parameters of some console's system specs. They weren't compromised--or at least, don't feel compromised. I know that there was a guy who wrote and came up with Doukutsu Monogatari, but I can't wrap my head around the idea. To me, it makes more sense that the thing emerged, fully-formed, from the Internet itself--that the graphical style drew itself and that the music was inspired by a brilliant-flash-of-insight muse; that at a certain time there was no Doukutsu but then after that time had passed it suddenly appeared.

It just works. There's not even any questioning it. The game does not need a console port, because it works best with the resolution of a PC. It shouldn't be on the GBA, because the screen area is large for a reason. It shouldn't have upgraded music, because the music's eight-bit qualities are exactly what makes it so great. The special effects look pretty enough--anything more or anything less wouldn't fit. Nothing needs to be added, and nothing needs to be subtracted. We have A Perfect Videogame here, folks. Is it the best I've ever played? No. But I can appreciate it. I can feel it. Work went into it, even though sometimes it's hard for me to believe. It is remarkably coherent, and is also fun as hell. I've been through it twice already, and all that's preventing me from starting it up for a third time is that it's nearly twelve o'clock and I have to go to school tomorrow. Still, Doukutsu Monogatari is good. It is damn good. It is why I play videogames in the first place.

Please check the game out if you are interested and please tell me what you think of it.

I'm just getting a general ballpark idea of how many of you might be interested in joining a GameFlaws.com LiveJournal Community if there was one? I'm thinking of creating one so that we might get some interesting discussions going right here on LJ and also to well... advertise the site a bit more. Its really no secret that we haven't picked up much business since the grand opening of over a week ago and I'd like for that to change, so I'm thinking by creating a larger venue for people to partipate in might be the way to go.

And secondly, if a GameFlaws.com Live Journal Community were to be made, I was thinking of having it be of a generalized discussion format where people can pretty much just post rants about games that they had a problem with or basically whatever comes to mind. It may also be more open for more of a off topic-esque discussion than that of the forums. Not that I want it to get out of hand or anything, but I'm thinking that the LJ community should be a bit more of a casual atmosphere since LJ is kind of already like that anyway. But these are just thoughts and that's why I'm asking this.

What would you all suggest in the creation of a GameFlaws LJ Community, if there is to be one?

I was checking my email over at Animenation.com when I noticed this article. While it doesn't perfectly describe why I personally tend to enjoy Japanese anime and manga over American animation and comics, I thought it generally did a decent job explaining this particular subject.

What do you all think? Would there be anything you would add to what was said?

Jan. 30th, 2005 @ 01:03 pm Episode 3: The Grand Opening of GameFlaws.com (ゲームフロルスのグランドオペンニング)
It seems that I haven't posted an update in awhile. Perhaps that will change in the coming days. I wanted to make an announcement that my new website, GameFlaws.com is officially open to the public.

GameFlaws.com is a site/webforum that is affiliated with the parent site, MiraiGamer.net. The GameFlaws.com site’s objective is to provide intellectual discussions concerning issues on where and how games have gone wrong and to provide analyses on what might have been done to improve such aspects to better improve the overall gaming experience.

Mostly this site will be about discussing various categories of flaws in gaming, such as:

GamePlay Flaws, dealing with the issues of Programming, Structure, Difficulty, or Distractions during the course of gameplay.

Presentation Flaws, dealing with how a game is presented, whether it be visually or audibly as well as translation/voice over quality.

Plot Related Flaws, dealing with the storyline, concepts, or characters of a game.

As well as other Miscellanious Flaws that do not seem do fit into the above categories. Some examples include issues concerning unlockable content, inconsistancies and any other flaws concerning serial games or games with sequels.

In addition, as to make this forum not be completely critical of games, a category called Game Merits will exist to point out highlights of games, such as originality and other various aspects that were expressed well during the course of gameplay. This can apply to games that are considered masterpieces and to games that are considered quite the opposite, as there is usually something good to be found in most games, regardless of whether that game is good, bad, successful or unsuccessful.

If you would like to join the Gameflaws.com Forums, please visit the Miraigamer Forums and join the Gameflaws usergroup.

Hope to see you there!

Aug. 19th, 2004 @ 01:27 pm Episode 2: Genso Suikoden IV:Good first impressions and other nonsense.(幻想水滸伝IⅤ:いい最初の印象。そして他の馬鹿げたこと
I was able to get Genso Suikoden IV last night and before I sent it to Yoriko today, I decided to play a bit of it, despite my not knowing enough Japanese yet to understand what was going on in the game. Eh.. ^^; So anyhow, here are my first impressions on the game if you care to read. If not, feel free to skip it. I'll only be going into minor spoilers concerning what happens in the very first hour of the game or so, but it is mainly just a critical review/preview? of what I saw in the game as I was playing it. It's kinda fun though and I might continue playing more of it just to see what happens next, so perhaps more updates will follow. ^_^

Genso Suikoden IV First Impressions )

Whew, that Suikoden IV post turned out to be longer than I originally expected to be. I guess I'll finish the rest of this update later tonight after dinner.

Edit: Today I finally went to go see Aliens Vs. Predator. I had heard before that the movie was terrible and the reviews seemed to back up that opinion for the most part, but this one guy at work said I should go see it if I was an Alien or Predator fan. After seeing it today I can now say that it is a fun and entertaining movie, but only if you are a fan of those two series. Some spoilers:

Aliens Vs. Predator )

Before the AVP movie started, I got to see previews for the next Resident Evil film, titled "Resident Evil: Apocolypse". Before, the only preview available online was some sort of Umbrella Corporation advertisement that didn't show any real content of the movie or what the characters would look like, plot synopsis, et cetera. But this time, the trailer was long and it showed lots! *_* This movie looks like it is going to kick so much ass. I'm really, really excited about it. Yoriko, are you sure you won't go and see it with me? It's going to be awesome! *__* It's going to have the Nemesis in it too. Looking forward to seeing how they will pull that one off.

Other things I'm looking forward to is getting the new Ninja Gaiden 1.1 Hurricane Pack to work on my Xbox. Because I have a modified Xbox, it makes it a lot tougher to get to work, if I can even get it to work at all. Luckily though a friend of mine is also taking a look at getting this expansion pack to work, so hopefully he can figure out how to do it since he is much more adept at Xbox stuff than I am. It's supposed to be awesome though. New enemies, weapons, bosses and a new camera mode have been added and everything makes the game even more difficult than before. I always love a good challenge and I've been waiting for something more difficult to play than the Very Hard mode on the regular game.

Aside from that game, I've been playing more Shadow Hearts. Still stuck in London and I've decided to play through the Quest for Glory series now that I can put them all on the laptop in a big collection. I've only played the third game, Wages of War and the fourth game, Shadows of Darkness and I've always wanted to go through the series since you can import your character from game to game. Looking forward to playing the last one too. Everyone seems to like the last game the most from what I've been reading about it.

Other than that, I'm just getting the final touches ready for when Yoriko moves down here and we have to take our road trip up to New Jersey and back. She's been packing and I've been getting things ready for her here so between the two of us, we'll get through it. Not too much longer though. Next Thursday is when it all begins and our life together down here commences. ^_^ So hell yes for that!

Aug. 10th, 2004 @ 08:30 pm Episode 1: I'm SkyeWelse From Now On (僕はこれからスカイウェルスです。)
After having closed down my previous livejournal, I opened a new one under the new name SkyeWelse. For those that don't know what that name means, there isn't a whole lot to its creation concept other than the fact that it combines the names of two original characters I created into one name and a rough translation of it would mean something along the lines of "Sky Fish". It was a name that I used to use very seldomly but now I'll be using it as my main handle online. Besides, I'm pretty sure I'm the only one weird enough to come up with this name so I think I'll be the only one out there using this name as in the previous case with CVH.

So now that I'm SkyeWelse now, what have I been up to these last few months? I've been working at a Petsmart as a merchandise stocker for the past two months or so saving up money for college tuition and ultimately a possible trip to Japan that Yoriko and I are planning some time in the next year. In addition I'm also saving up to pay installments on a Dell Latitude C400 Notebook computer that I've decided to purchase from a friend. Having this laptop should make things easier around the house in making sure I can complete online tasks and such and hopefully be able to update a livejournal more. It's a pretty sweet laptop and it can run several programs that will be very useful to learn for people trying to get into the career that I'm aiming for. More on that later. This is what the laptop looks like in case you all would like to see:

Dell Latitude Notebook model C400

Working at a Petsmart was tough at first, especially with the early rise, early to bed shifts, but in the long run I believe it is a solid job that pays decent and will give me enough hours. It is very hard work and it leaves me rather exhausted after a day's work, but at least it's money and it helping me to stay physically fit I suppose. My muscles and heart are thanking me... I think...

I've learned quite a bit about pet care and the various products we sell while I've worked there which I hope will be useful when it comes time to get a pet with Yoriko. Speaking of which, at the end of this month Yoriko will finally be moving down to Georgia to live and we will finally be a "short distance" couple. ^_^ She and I are living proof that some long distance relationships do work out. *L* She and I have some additional preparations to make before the move, one of which is to make a final journey from Georgia to northern New Jersey by car to load up her belongings and head back. I'm trying to get a wide assortment of good tunes to listen to while we drive up there. Should be interesting. *L*

Lately I've been quite hooked on the Buffy: The Vampire Slayer tv series and the Angel tv series, thanks to Yoriko. ^_^ She got me started on Buffy Season 1 and I was pulled in, hook, line, and sinker from episode 1. I would have never thought it before, but the writing in both of those series is amazing. I like them both better than Alias and I never thought I would ever say that. 0_0

I'm also hooked on Naruto and I watch it whenever I get see a new release from the fansubbers at Anbu & AonE. Also looking forward to Naruto Narutimett Hero 2!

Still studying Japanese so that I'm not completely lost when Yoriko and I take our trip to Japan. Though, I really must say, Japanese is quite difficult to learn and I'm finding out how much harder it gets as I move along. As soon as I think I know enough to get by, even by just a little bit, it comes back to bite me in the butt and I mess up. @_@ But I'm trying at least and trying to practice as much as I can, especially before I have to meet Yoriko's parents. *gulp* 僕の頭はだめです。

I've pretty much decided on where I plan on going to school for and where I would like to go, which is good considering that there were more than a few choices of schools to consider in the beginning. What I'm aiming for is a way to break into the gaming industry through art rather than programming. Funny that most schools in the United States that teach that field of expertise tailor more to the programming side of the coin rather than art. But the good thing is that the Art Institute of Atlanta recently started up the Game Art & Design course and I've been working on taking care of the courses at my current school that can transfer to the Art Institute thereby making the overall tuition cost cheaper. I'm still most likely going to have to take out a loan or two to pay for it all, but I think the skills they will teach me will be well worth it. I plan on learning a bit of the programs they use before I go to school there, which I hope is only about a year away. So I'm starting to learn programs such as Maya 6, 3d Studio Max 6, Flash and Adobe Photoshop CS before I start the program. Luckily this little laptop outputs enough power to support these programs and run them pretty well, so that is good. ^_^

As far as games go, I've been playing a fair bit of them, but not routinely due to my rabid habits of watching Buffy and Angel. Let's see here. I'm currently playing Shadow Hearts, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Residen Evil Outbreak, Chronicles of Riddick, the two Star Wars games for Game Cube, Alias, Final Fantasy X and American McGee's Alice again. I also started Panzer Dragoon Saga again because I love that game, but I'm not sure how far I'll get in in it.

I finished a few games, namely Silent Hill 4: The Room and Gitarooman which both kicked tons of ass. I think Silent Hill 4 was just as good as Silent Hill 1 and 2 and Gitarooman is just insane fun. Hard, but fun. ^_^

Looking forward to Metal Gear Solid 3 and Resident Evil 4 quite a bit, that and of course Halo 2 and Advent Rising, that Orsen Scott Card game.

Also, I went to go see "The Village" recently and I didn't much care for it. Though I was wondering who else saw it and what you all thought of the movie.

That's about it for this update other than the fact that I'm working on a new website called GameFlaws.com when I have time. It'll be a site having to do with the various aspects of games that one might consider a flaw in the game and what might have been done to improve such aspects. Should be neat to see what others think of as far as flaws in games and it would help me in the long run since I'm aiming to be a game designer. ^_^

Take care and thanks to everyone who added me as a friend. It'd be quite lonely starting fresh without many of my old pals. ^_^ I hope all is well.
